Home Decor Christmas Wish List

11/16/2020

It's that time of year!  Your kids and husband and Aunt Linda are going to ask what you want for Christmas.  And if you're like me, you've got everything on your radar for the holiday.... EXCEPT for your own wish list.  So... you can run with 'some socks'... or you can share this fabulous gift list to your loved ones.  It's universally awesome - promise :)  I'm going to go share this with my kids now...

Sometimes the simplest of things bring the greatest happiness.  Fresh white towels... is there anything better?!  There are 1,001 things that are higher on the priority list than refreshing your own towels.  But if someone were to gift them to you... how luxurious!  Pair them with a candle and bubble bath and you may have the best gift ever.

Add a layer of coziness with a soft throw.  Tossed on a bed, chair or couch, it instantly perks up a space.  And it will keep you toasty on chilly days.

A few additions to a kitchen will transform this bustling zone in your house.  Get uber-organized with these containers from Rubbermaid.  Perfect for pantry or refrigerator, so you'll know exactly where to find everything!

Take that wine outside!  With these unbreakable stemless wine glasses, no need to worry about breaking your own 'no glass on the patio' rule.  Or, let the kids drink their juice out of the 'fancy glasses' - what a treat!  Don't forget this electric wine bottle opener to help uncork your wine bottles.  Easy-peasy.

Let's top off our mini kitchen makeover with a versatile wood cutting board.  Cutting boards are used in lots of ways lately... prop it against your backsplash as a decorative item, arrange meets and cheeses on it and call it a charcuterie board, or you can just use it to cut things.  It will soon become a favorite in your kitchen.

Ready to decorate the house?  Two tier trays are super popular and very versatile to decorate throughout the year.  They add height and visual interest anywhere they are displayed.  Perfect for bathrooms to contain small doo-dads, by a Keurig to corral a variety of K-cups, or on a counter/tabletop sporting the latest seasonal decorative items.

These white vases are a perfect trio as is, or you can mix them with other decor.  Add a flower sprig for a sweet touch.  Or arrange them on a side table, bookshelf or centerpiece.  So versatile and timeless.

Freshen a sitting area by adding this square white tray to an ottoman.  I like the shape of this tray, and it's great to have touches of white to brighten a space.  Add this great coffee table book full of design inspiration (who doesn't love Joanna?)

String wooden beads can be draped on large jars, trays, or a stack of books.  It's a big design trend right now, and an easy, cheap upgrade to make!  They add a special, natural touch to update your home decor.

Greenery adds life and personality to a home.  These faux potted plants are cute tucked on a side table next to a lamp, or on a bathroom counter.  The best part - these plants won't die!

Finally, this trio of books adds a casual touch of coziness.  Perfect for a foyer table, it's a perfect welcome to great guests to your 'home sweet home'.

I would enjoy receiving any of these as gifts, and I hope they inspire you this holiday season.

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and while it may look different this year, we can still be festive!  Check out this beautiful tablescape that inspired us (found on Pinterest).  Shop items to create this look in the links below (items from Amazon).  And remember, that although it's been a weird year, we can all be thankful for so much.  Have a great Thanksgiving season, friends!  (Click on image to link to Amazon).

This linen-look-a-like table runner can be used year-round.  Very versatile and stylish!  Available in various lengths - choose one that is about as long as your table length.

These beauties are DISPOSABLE!  I love to simplify the holiday meal in any way I can - bonus points when it doesn't take away from the meal.  These little guys are stylish and will be beautiful on your table, and then you can THROW THEM AWAY.  Woohoo!
Picture
I have these chargers and love them - they are versatile and coordinate endlessly with whatever plate you place on them.  They add a sense of formality to a meal, and they protect your table.  Win win!

Again, we're merging simplicity with style here.  Paper napkins are perfect during covid - no washing dirty cloth napkins.  And they are pretty!  As in the inspiration pic, they can be layered between the small and medium plates.

These little guys are the perfect adornment to each place setting.  Leave them plain, or label each of them to use as a place setting name tag.  LOVE the white pumpkin - it's elegant and festive.  And it won't clash with your Christmas decor if you've got that set up in other areas of the home already.

Get a few of these to use as the centerpiece of the table, along with the following floral items...

These alternate color pumpkins are perfect to intermix with the lager white pumpkins for the centerpiece.  One set will do it.

These Lamb's Ear sprays are very popular and introduce the perfect gray/green touch and a luxurious texture to the table.  Snip them shorter if necessary and lay them on the table, tucking them between pumpkins.

Similarly, these white pops of mums add the perfect fall touch!  Shorten these stems and tuck them in with the Lamb's Ear sprays.

Just a bit of bling to add to the occasion :). Add these sparingly to the tabletop as well.

These beautiful candle holders can be used year-round, for any occasion!  For this table, they add a touch of glimmer and sparkle with the mercury detail.  Space them out along the table and top with some battery candles (below).
